Глаз

2021

Frontviews is pleased to host at HAUNT the exhibition Глаз* of Emma Waltraud Howes, an artist who translates her poetics in a heterogeneous production from performance to drawing to sculpture, which will be the subject of this exhibition. This exhibition is curated by Stephan Klee.

Objects made of glass, are presented as eye glass tools to practice multidirectional gaze variations which can be seen as static and fixed in time, and fragile in the memory of a moment. However, through movement, these seemingly fragile lenses become tools to dismantle internalized projections: “Find liberation in the thing of it all, you collectors of projections!” – Howes, Глаз | Auge | Eye, 2021.

*Глаз, is Russian for Eye. In the Cyrillic alphabet the word translates directly as GLAZ.
