score for eight
variable
The choreography for Ankyloglossia (n. tongue-tie) was based on the original score for ‘Quad’, Samuel Beckett (1981), compressed and reworked to incorporate common methods for collective protests, such as call and response. The first rendition was established by reconceptualizing the work for eight players, and assigning each actor a movement: pile, curl, shake, free, base, foot, fold, and stack. The initial notation had a run time of 7:06:39 with the printed score measuring 230 x 42 cm. The final compressed version has a run time of 1:26:25 and measures 93 x 42 cm.
