Bang Bang Baroque
Bang Bang Baroque, is a series of drawings that explore contrasting mythologies between traditional gestures of rhetoric & soft head banging. Through a vigorous and critical analysis of the role that dynamism plays in communication, the sculptures and choreographies developed from these drawings aim to illustrate that friction is productive when boundaries are respected. Referencing a diversity of subjective perspectives – these works speculate on interconnections between histories, to pronounce the value in staying with the trouble in order to work through. The drawings will be translated into inflatable baroque wigs that can be worn by performers as they oscillate between subject and object amidst their audience.
